Pressurized Cooling Systems

The pressurized cooling system controls what happens when temperature rises and water expands. It is equipped with a C&R pressure accumulator that controls air space and acts as an “air spring”. At expansion the “air spring” collapses rather than pushing water out of the radiator cap. A pressure relief valve replaces the radiator cap in this application. The benefits include higher operating temperatures and smaller duct work openings resulting in greater control of water contact in critical areas of the engine. The C&R Pressurized Cooling System is designed to meet all cooling needs in one package. The pressurized cooling system is used by IndyCars®, Formula One, NASCAR®, and Late Model; the system is adaptable to any water-cooled racecar.
