Originally designed by C&R to install spherical bearings into various IndyCar® suspension components. C&R’s Staking Tools are designed to service the broadest range of bearing manufacturers, including GOLDLINE, AURORA and NHBB; a maintenance tool a race team shouldn’t be without. Due to size, style, and brand set by the manufacturer of the bearings the staking tools are color-coded allowing easier identification of tool with respective bearing. The NHBB/NMB staking tools are black in color and the GOLDLINE and AURORA tools are gold. Manufacturers have set specifications for installation of their bearings, failure to follow those specifications could result in joint failure, C&R has each manufacturer’s specs on file.
The staking tools are sold per half Anvil or Punch, depending on preferred installation technique – Anvil/Punch or Punch/Punch combination. C&R recommends having a set available in the workshop, race transporter and the test transporter. Standard sets are available. Set includes six sizes, monoballs - 4 through - 9. Custom-built and individual sizes are also available.
